Both brands build each mounting style in three finishes. Within a brand, the box sizes and door styles are the same in each finish.

Potter Roemer or JL Industries?
Both are commercial cabinets for the same jobs. The practical differences are the glazing and the door choices. Potter Roemer Alta glazed doors use tempered safety glass and come in six door styles. JL Industries fire extinguisher cabinets use clear acrylic glazing as standard, with clear safety glass, bronze or gray acrylic as options, and nine door styles, including Saf-T-Lok locking versions. Fire-rated versions are called FRC (Potter Roemer) and FX2 (JL Industries). If the specification names a brand or model, match it; if not, use the filters to compare prices for the size and mounting you need.
What size fire extinguisher cabinet do you need?
Size the cabinet to the extinguisher it will hold, then check the exact extinguisher model on the cabinet submittal. The fire extinguisher cabinet dimensions below are inside box sizes. Potter Roemer builds the Alta cabinets around four inside box sizes, the same in steel, aluminum and stainless steel:

Surface cabinets are listed by outside size. The 7009 is 11-1/2 x 20-1/2 x 5-3/4 in, for up to 5 lb. The 7024 is 11-1/2 x 26-1/2 x 5-3/4 in, for up to 10 lb. The 7029 is 14-1/2 x 29-1/2 x 8 in, for up to 20 lb. Check the exact extinguisher model against the Potter Roemer submittal, which also lists rough openings.
